The 4-hour authorized person program is designed for workers, managers, and supervisors who require height safety awareness training and the familiarization with personal fall protection equipment. Attendees become knowledgeable of fall hazards, safe practices and are introduced to OSHA and ANSI standards on workplace fall protection. Hands-on experience is provided in fixed ladder climbing, restraint and arrest systems, and participants inspect and don harnesses. Students are given the opportunity to actively suspend in their harnesses, testing fit and the ability to self-rescue. In the course of training, students are familiarized with developing workplace safety plans, the criteria for equipment inspection, record-keeping, maintenance, the storage, and the removal from service of damaged fall protection equipment.
