This 9-hour program is designed for individuals and organizations that need training on dealing with injuries where help maybe delayed and where medical equipment is limited. Wilderness treatment guidelines are consolidated with the American Red Cross First Aid programs. Students will participate in splinting, bandaging, small wound cleaning and proper CPR techniques.
The 1 day Remote First-Aid program is based on the Wilderness Medical Society guidelines and consolidated with the American Red Cross First Aid programs. The program is made for individuals and organizations that need basic first-aid training for emergency scenarios past “one hour” from formal care.
This program provides guidance for workers dealing with cardiac emergencies and basic trauma where 911 calls and rapid response is unrealistic. Students participate in lab medical scenarios to summarize course activities.
