This 1-day program includes discussions and simulation training on preflight preparation and responsibilities before and directly after an emergency landing. Training consists of journey management, aviation/cold weather PPE, first-aid skills, and of the mental and physical requirements for survival. The field training session has students practicing “post-crash” survival skills.
This one day program is an initial look at information and techniques for surviving aviation accidents in cold weather areas. This training includes discussions and simulation training on preflight preparation for cold weather flights, seat belt usage, and crash positions as well as responsibilities before and directly after an emergency landing.
Classroom training consists of discussions on journey management, aviation/cold weather PPE, first-aid skills, and of the mental and physical requirements for survival. The afternoon training consists of a field session where students are supplied survival kits and spend their time practicing “post-crash” survival skills. This session is where students move passengers from the wreckage, render care, improvise victim protection and then prepare for rescue.
