Tanner joined LTR in March 2024 with a background of being an Army Medic, Search and Rescue operator, and Basic Fire Fighter/EMT. The cumulative of his real world and training experience has given him a robust skill set and understanding of medicine, field operations, and survival. Tanner served for over 6 years as an Airborne Combat Medic, in this time he built up his knowledge of medicine through the attendance of both military and civilian courses; as well as gained the practical application through real world injuries in austere, urban environments and through training with domestic and partner forces. Tanner has had a multitude of humanitarian deployments in support of Search and Rescue, being given the opportunity to work with the FBI, Dept. Of Homeland Security, and more. A result of which he had the honor of meeting and being recognized for his service by the President of the United States. After his time in the active Army, Tanner continued his service via the Alaska National Guard and continues to volunteer frequently in his off time with local Search and Rescue group MATSAR and as a BFF/EMT at Chugiak Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.
At LTR, Tanner is our newest instructor and is looking to learn and absorb as much as he can from his coworkers, as well as bring his own experience and knowledge to the table to continue to develop and drive foreword LTRs name on the cutting edge of survival, safety, and medical training.
Outside of his service to others, Tanner is a devout Christian who enjoys studying his Bible, spending time with his wife and son, working out and formerly competing as a strongman, and finally, as any good Alaskan, he enjoys camping, hunting, and fishing.
