Jorge comes to LTR from an extensive background in U.S. Army Combat Arms (Infantry). While serving in the military, Jorge experienced extensive training opportunities throughout the world and numerous combat deployments in support of The Global War on Terror, to include Afghanistan and Iraq.
Outside of his traditional combat arms experience, Jorge taught Mountaineering, Arctic Survival, Skiing, Avalanche Rescue, Glacier Travel and Rescue, and High Angle Rescue. His last assignment in the military was to the Department of Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency at Joint Base Pearl Harbor/Hickam. In his capacity as Mountaineer Team Leader, Jorge traveled to extremely remote locales around the globe investigating leads and recovering the remains of missing or unaccounted-for service members of our Armed Forces from previous conflicts.
Rounding out more than two decades of uniformed service, Jorge retired from the Army to pursue a career in Alaska Law Enforcement in November, 2015. He began his career as a Reserve Officer for the Palmer Police Department in early 2016 and became a full time Police Officer later that spring.
After nearly 5 years serving in Alaska Law Enforcement, Jorge decided to put his talents and experience to use as our Lead Safety and Survival Instructor here at LTR Training Systems. He brings experience, dedication, and a wealth of knowledge to our team. In his spare time, Jorge is also currently a Krav Maga Instructor, One-on-One Control Tactics Instructor, is CPR and AED certified, and has previously held certification as an EMT. Through all of this experience, Jorge has demonstrated that, first and foremost, he is dedicated to helping Alaskans prepare for the harsh realities of our beautiful state and is equally committed to growing and learning in order to pass those lessons on to others.
