LTR Resumé
LTR Training Systems Inc. was created in 1986 to prepare industrial workers
and military personnel for Alaska's arduous environment. Since that time,
we have grown to offer our courses internationally and maintain full staff
certified positions. We instruct over 2,000 students a year in these advanced
programs and have produced our own training manuals, slide shows, and
formal training aids to accompany our curricula. Programs include lots
of hands on training and real life simulations that test students under
pressure. We believe "Education without Exp-erience is no Education
at all."
Training includes programs for law enforcement, military and industry
in techniques for escaping submerged airframes. This training includes
the use of portable aircraft escape simulators of our design and incorporates
training in Emergency Breathing Devices. Specifically the use of H.E.E.D.
(Helicopter Emergency Egress Devices). LTR is a recognized company for
qualification with these devices.
Creation of a Aviation Program entitled Primary Aviation Survival School
(P.A.S.S.) which provides training in advance life support techniques
for special aviation commitments. This is a global survival training program
that includes modules on protection from specific environments, crash
medicine, personal protection, and security. This course aids law enforcement
agents in their work in the U.S. and South America and has now been used
to instruct over 600 crewmembers for the U.S. Customs Service, U.S. Border
Patrol, Drug Enforcement Administration and U.S. Marshals.
A 5-day Aviation Arctic Survival program for the Federal Aviation Administration,
both initial and refresher programs that are based on skills needed to
survive remote air crashes in arctic areas.
A formal continuing polar survival training school on the North Slope
of Alaska for spill response personnel and northern researchers. For the
last 5 years this training has included active "field" training
sessions at temperatures of minus 50 degrees F.
The only company in the U.S. to conduct open lifeboat and liferaft training
for the past 5 years in the harsh environment of the Beaufort Sea, which
is above 70 degrees north latitude.
Marine survival training programs for newly assigned U.S. Fish & Wildlife,
oil platform, and construction workers, to prepare them for safe field
operations in northern and southern waters.
Off-shore and land survival training programs custom developed for the
U.S. Coast Guard, Sandia Laboratories, and C.R.R.E. Laboratories. Instruction
is provided to remote vessel and research crews positioned in Canada,
Antarctica, and Alaska.
Extensive hands-on training programs for disaster responders that prepares
them for building collapse caused by earthquakes, bomb blast and structural
failures. LTR realistically simulates a seven story building collapse
for this training program complete with smoke, water main failures, sound
explosions, and medical victims. Emphasis is placed on rapid response,
treatment, extrication, and triage.
Adapted medical training programs for individuals working in jungles,
deserts, and the arctic. These medical courses are based on the most current
information for dealing with victims of vehicle crashes, helicopter impacts,
drownings, and even ballistic injuries. Realistic expectations and techniques
are provided for most of life's medical emergencies.
Bear defense weapons training programs to prepare field travelers and
oil field exploration personnel to safely handle and fire weapons in defense
of life. Students are taught bear behavior and decisions for shoot/no-shoot
scenarios as well as non-lethal options.
Oilfield and oil platform safety and survival contracts for: Alyeska Pipeline,
ARCO, Conoco, Unocal, Amoco, Exxon, Shell, Mobil, Occidental, BP Exploration,
Chevron USA, Marathon, VECO International, Sakhalin Energy Russia.
